  • If you have cold like symptoms – self isolate yourself for 2 weeks
  • If you work with other people and are worried about getting infected – wear masks
  • Stay 1 mtr – 3 feet away from any one couging or sneezing
  • When couging or sneezing, always cover your mouth with tissue, napkin or elbow shirt
  • Wash your hands regularly when you touch anything which may have been touched by public before like door handles, hand rails etc
  • Work on improving your immune system by following this advice
    • take lot of fibres, pulses and fermented food – Kefir yoghurt and pickles such as sauerkraut and kimchi are among the fermented delicacies now fashionable thanks to our increasing knowledge of the immunology.
    • Excercise increases immune system’s strenght and good sleep decreases stress hormone cortisol which kills immune system cells
    • regular moderate to heavy Alcohol consumption makes immune system very weak
    • Vit D & selenium are more important than Vit C for strong immune system
    • The seriousness of an infection largely depends on the dose you are hit with, which could in turn depend on how contagious the carrier is when they cough near you. “We’re constantly exposed to germs, and we only get sick from a handful of those”.  No one can completely avoid getting sick, not even top immunologists. But if your immune system is strong, you will recover soon.
