Infosys Will Hire 100% More Employee In Canada
While speaking at the annual Invest India Conference, Nandan Nilekani reminded everyone about Infosys’s mega expansion plan in Canada.
From 2000 employees right now, Infosys plans to double their workforce, and hire 100% more employees to take the count to 4000.
2000 employees of Infosys are right now based at three of the most important cities in Canada: Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
In the next 12-18 months, Infosys will launch a mega recruitment drive, and hire 2000 more employees. Besides, partnerships with leading educational institutions of Canada is also on the cards.
He said, “And, the idea is to double it to over 4,000 In the next 12-18 months. We work with Canadian clients, we work with clients in the US from Canada. We also have great relationships with universities in Canada like Toronto and Vancouver, British Columbia and so on
Focus On AI, Big Data Projects
As per Nandan, the world is witnessing the next wave of technology based innovation, and they will fully participate in this movement.
Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technolgies are in great demand globally, and these can be used in areas such as Supply Chain management, agriculture and manufacturing, which Infosys plans to focus in the coming days.
He said, “We have to rethink manufacturing using robotics, 3D manufacturing…I think it is a good chance for us to create a digital supply chain as manufacturing comes more and more to India in the coming years,”
Showcasing the example of Aadhaar based monetary distribution program which impacted millions of Indians, he said that Infosys will continue to work on high end technological innovation and solution.
