I have had the unique experience of having my first child in my 20’s, my second child in my 30’s and my last at 40.
Each pregnancy was its own experience, as each child has been. In no way did I enjoy being pregnant but I cherished each pregnancy because it was such a special time where I got to know about my children in a way no one else ever could.

My first child was born when I was 24 years old. I was young and in good health. I bounced back from an unplanned c-section and lost more weight than I had gained with the pregnancy. I was tired with sleepless nights and breastfeeding but I had energy to keep up with all of the day’s activities. What I lacked was patience. An infant and small child needs your patience as they are growing and learning about the world around them. I lacked the patience to really appreciate those firsts.
