The cost of the COVID test has been reduced from 88 pounds to 68 pounds (USD 122 to USD 94), after many representations over the high charges of the mandatory testing.
In a piece of good news for the global travellers, and more specifically Indians, the UK on Saturday reduced the COVID test cost for them. Notably, the move has been taken for the countries which were earlier placed under the red list and the latest taken to Amber list by the UK government. Now, the passengers returning from Green list countries or Amber list destinations like India, if they are fully vaccinated, will now pay 20 pounds (USD 27) less per Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test and the UK in a fresh guideline stated that the COVID test must be taken on or before day two after the traveller arrives in England.
